About the Willamette Motor Club

Welcome to the Willamette Motor Club website. If you have any suggestions, comments, or questions about the page please email us at web@wmclub.org.

Please look around and let us know what you think should be changed with the website. Also if you know of any local or regional links that we should be aware of please submit them and we will compile a list for our links page.

The WMC was formed in 1955 in Salem, Oregon for the purpose of furthering interest in motoring as a sport, to encourage the enjoyment of car driving and maintenance, to promote observation of traffic laws and courteous driving habits. In general, to organize and plan automotive events and functions of mutual interest.

When we are not busy competing or organizing events, club members enjoy several social activities during the year. These include a July picnic, a Thanksgiving Wine Tour and a December awards dinner, with occasional club tours, campouts and trips to the indoor gokarts in Tigard.

Willamette Motor Club is a non-profit corporation. Club dues and event fees cover the expenses of hosting events and maintaining equipment. Excess funds are returned to the community as charitable contributions. In recent years, Willamette Motor Club has supported the Oregon School for the Blind, the McKay High School Band, the Red Cross, Nestuca Rural Fire District, and local public safety organizations.

We meet in Salem at 7:30 PM on the third Thursday of the month at the Round Table Pizza in Keizer Station. Come early to socialize with other members before the meeting.

No. This is a popular misconception. Willamette Motor Club is open to the public, open to anyone, no matter what you drive. Certainly, some members have sports cars, but many others have pickup trucks and econoboxes. We are an equal opportunity club! All you need is an interest in things automotive.

You can become a member either at one of our monthly business meetings or at any of our events.
